The Insurance Supervision Agency of Macedonia is hosting the Regional Seminar for Insurance Supervisors
Regional project on Disasters risks insurance (Europa Reinsurance Facility Ltd.), whose implementer is the Insurance Supervision Agency (ASO) continue implementing the planned activities. Within the project activities a new idea is being promoted and that is introducing a new concept of agricultural insurance. Therefore, on 11/18/2013, Europa Re team and Mr. Charles Stutly consultant for agricultural insurance made his presentation to the representatives of insurance companies that sale agricultural insurance policies and to the ASO employees.
The presentation gave explanation about the characteristics of three types of insurance in the agriculture: 1) agricultural risk insurance (Named Peril Crop Insurance), 2. Insurance against multiple agricultural risks (Multi Peril Crop Insurance) and 3. indexed insurance on realized yields in a specific area (Area Yield Index Insurance-AYII). Particular attention was paid to the third type of insurance (AYII) that will enable better protection of the agricultural production and provide better risk coverage.
Celebrating Insurance Day
Insurance Supervision Agency organized an event held on 1.11.2013 in “Aleksandar Palace” hotel to celebrate the Insurance Day. Mr . Zoran Stavreski, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Mr. Klime Poposki , President of the Experts Council of the Insurance Supervision Agency and Mr. Zoran Narashanov, Chairman of the Board of the National Insurance Bureau addressed the guests.
During the official part of the ceremony the President of the Insurance Supervision Agency, Mr. Klime Poposki awarded the plaque for best research paper in the area of risk management and insurance in the country for 2013 and eleven (11) Certificates for successful passing the license exam for certified actuaries (third generation of Actuaries).
Following the formal part, the Fifth International Insurance Conference was opened called “Challenges of the insurance industry in the country” organized by the National Insurance Bureau. The conference was attended by representatives of the Insurance Supervision Agency who participated in panel discussions and gave a presentation on the conditions on the insurance market in the Republic of Macedonia.
Signed Memorandum of Cooperation between ASO and FZOM
On 13 of December 2012, Insurance Supervision Agency (АСО) and Health Insurance Fund of RM (FZOM) have signed Memorandum of Cooperation.
The Memorandum regulates mutual cooperation between ASO and FZOM related to exchange and use of information between both institutions.
